The dash settings are for initializing the sensors, which is basically setting a benchmark value of already registered sensors. There is no pairing process to add an extra set of sensors. It's almost mind boggling to me that this would ONLY work with Toyota TPMS sensors.

I can live with the light, but right now it's more of a 'I can't believe this is so difficult' situation and I'm more interested in learning and finding a resolution for my own peace of mind. I may price around the other Toyota dealerships to see if that $170 price is their standard rate, or if Culver City Toyota has their own ridiculous pricing structure. I even got into a 'slight' yelling match with an older Korean dude when he wouldn't even entertain the idea that TPMS sensors could have a soft valve instead of a solid valve. So far every place I've gone can read the sensors but not program them. I'm not sure if I can get back to a 'clean slate' if I disconnect the battery I may try this. I'm assuming I missed my opportunity to reprogram the new sensors. It doesn't do that anymore and just stays solid. I went through the learning process through the vehicle settings and it went forward just like the owner's manual stated TPMS light would start blinking. I guess the reading of those sensors is finicky and the car won't read them. When I purchased new wheels and tires online, I also had them install new sensors.
