The story of the Dark Pictures video game is quite simple. The game revolves around the main character’s Jack, Mary, and her son Michael, who happen to be members of the City’s Resistance Movement, a group of individuals who want to prevent the destruction of the entire world to keep the Earth safe. Each part has different features and is inhabited by several tribes of people who all have different motivations and goals. Jack soon learns that the island is divided into three parts: the City, the Desert, and the Highlands. He must learn what happened to the island’s resident “God” who is rumoured to be hiding on the island because the humans have already killed him before his birth. However, Jack soon learns that there is much more to the story. She then gives him three pieces of information, the first one being that Jack is the only one who can save the world.

He soon comes across a mysterious woman named Mary, who tells him that there are three items on the island that he must obtain to rescue the world from destruction. A few months before the outbreak of an outbreak, Jack had a dream wherein he was transported to the mysterious island where his past is revealed. The Dark Pictures game starts with you playing the role of a young boy named Jack Taylor.
